Exhibition: Past John’s LuvApr 27–Jun 12, 2010

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

John’s Luv is a nearly 1,000-page handwritten and painted book, complete with a 4 x 11.5’ foldout painting. Alternately fiction, diary, mise-en-scene and metanarrative, this illustrated tale follows John’s attempt to love better and more deeply those around him. Begun in 2003, this massive undertaking pursues answers to Moore’s unremitting ambiguities and doubts relative to the questions of community, God, love, and daily life.

John’s Luv is presented concurrently with Designing Egos and What Manner of Person Art Thou?

SUPPORT

John’s Luv is supported by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts; the College of Architecture and the Arts, University of Illinois at Chicago; a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency; and the Institute of Museum and Library Services, a federal agency.
