ABOUT THE EVENT

Poetry and the Collective Experience

This poetry discussion and creative writing workshop led by Maggie Queeney begins as a conversation with our current exhibition, All have the same breath.

After engaging with the exhibition, participants read and discuss poems that explore the artworks’ prevalent themes. Together, we compose a collaborative poem that uses breath, repetition, and visualization to describe our individual and collective experiences and relationship to the earth.

The workshop is free and open to all but space is limited.

Maggie Queeney is the Poetry Foundation Library Coordinator. Her poetry chapbook, settler, was named the winner of the 2017 Baltic Writing Residency Poetry Chapbook Contest and is forthcoming from Rabbit Catastrophe Press.
