ABOUT THE EVENT

Artist Talk by Ginger Lane

Join us for Creating Legacy: Furthering the Art of Dance Through the Art of Disability, an artist talk featuring 2019 UIC 3Arts fellow Ginger Lane.

Ginger Lane began her dance training in Chicago with Edna McRae, Erik Braun, John Kriza, Bentley-Stone, and Walter Camryn. Using a wheelchair since 1984, Ginger has collaborated and performed with the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, and for ten years was a member of Dance>Detour, a company of dancers with and without disabilities. She has been performing, choreographing, and conducting workshops with MOMENTA since 2003. In 2000 she was named one of “100 Women Making a Difference” in Today’s Chicago Woman magazine. Since 2008, as Coordinator of the Arts & Culture Project at Access Living, Ginger has produced the physically integrated dance concert Counter Balance for the past eight years.
