ABOUT THE EVENT
Join UIC’s Electronic Visualization Lab (UIC’s EVL) co-director Dan Sandin for a special demonstration of Particle Dreams in Spherical Harmonics in the CAVE2: the next-generation virtual reality and visualization hybrid environment for immersive simulation and information analysis. CAVE2 is the second iteration of what became known as the CAVE virtual reality theater, developed at UIC’s EVL in 1991. During the demonstration, participants have the chance to step into CAVE2’s cylindrical array of screens and watch real-time interactive animations of light surround them.
Daniel J. Sandin is an internationally recognized pioneer of electronic art and visualization. He is Director Emeritus of the Electronic Visualization Lab and a Professor Emeritus in the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
