Celebrate the release of ALLCITY: a bookwork of Chicago art education stories, the result of our December bookwork event led by artist and educators Jorge Lucero and Paulina Camacho Valencia in connection with the exhibition Learning Together: Art Education and Community. For the book, Lucero and Valencia asked the contributors: What is your relationship to art education in Chicago? Did you teach? Did you learn? Did you make, advocate, fight, or give? Did you find healing, community, or purpose? Is your creative work through art education? Are you in early childhood, elementary, middle, or high school, higher education, or community arts? Are you in with the teaching artists, arts advocates, museum educators, social practitioners, or art therapists? Do you represent multiple intersections of these realms? The results are over 50 different art education stories from artist educators from across Chicago. Celebrate the release with a casual conversation with some of the contributors to the book. Food and refreshments will be provided.
