Join us for a sound art installation, dinner, and conversation in participation with the Chicago Community Trust’s On the Table. Guided by our guest facilitator, Sarah Gabriella Hernandez, we will explore topics of food waste and our collective relationship to agriculture. Nourish your body with a farm-to-fork prepared meal by Chef Abra Berens and feed your mind with conversation around the politics of sustainability.

Sarah Gabriella Hernandez is a current graduate student in the Community and Prevention Research division of Psychology at UIC. She works as a program coordinator for the UIC Heritage Garden program and as a Research Assistant for a Community based Health Assessment in the Little Village community of Chicago. Through her work and continued engagement with community gardens in Chicago, Sarah’s work focuses on the intersection of urban agriculture and environmental sustainability with diversity and social justice.

Eric Leonardson is a teaching artist, instrument inventor, acoustic ecologist, Executive Director of the World Listening Project, founder of Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology, President of the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology, and Adjunct Associate Professor in Department of Sound at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Leonardson performs internationally engaging new audiences actively in art, science, and environment through creative collaborations, research, and technology.
