ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

The immediacy of drawing, the quick connection of hand and line seduces artists. In the process of translating objects and images into drawn works, many artists also translate drawing into other forms, broadening the definition of the medium. Curated by Lorelei Stewart, Drawn Out explores expanded practices of drawing (for example, drawing as sculpture or drawing as video) with works that are both literally sculptural and time-based as well as works that remain two-dimensional but are no less influenced by the new scope of possibilities in drawing.
