Anthony Huberman Primary

Anthony Huberman is an independent curator and writer based in New York. He is currently a distinguished lecturer at Hunter College and is director of The Artist’s Institute.

He has served as curator of the SculptureCenter, New York; education director at MoMA/PS1, New York; curator at Palais de Tokyo, Paris; and chief curator at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis. He has organized exhibitions, performance, and radio events with Ei Arakawa, John Armleder, Oliver Mosset, Lutz Bacher, Dexter Sinister, and Max Schumann, among others. His writings have appeared in Afterall, Artforum, Bomb, Dot Dot Dot, and The Wire. Huberman was born and raised in Switzerland, studied art history in Italy, and received a BA in sociology from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
