UIC School of Art & Art History hosts Open Studios on Thursday, November 30 from 6-10pm.

6–7pm: Conversation with Karen Greenwalt, Katja Rivera, and Sherwin Ovid at Gallery 400.

Explore the process of curating with UIC Art History PhD candidates Karen Greenwalt and Katja Rivera. In conversation with UIC MFA alumnus Sherwin Ovid, they will discuss their interdepartmental relationship during their formative years at UIC. Ovid’s inclusion in Traduttore Traditore, an exhibition curated by Greenwalt and Rivera, demonstrates how their work together has come full-circle; they have gone from graduate colleagues to professional colleagues.

Hear readings and presentations from the editors and contributors of UIC’s journal of critical museum studies.

7–9pm: Insight into UIC's BFA & MFA programs.

See the work of the current Senior Thesis BFA class and experience the energy of this exciting young group of emerging artists. Get an inside look at the studios of the UIC MFA program while indulging in delicious artful snacks prepared by a local chef favorite. Curator of Public Programs at MCA January Parkos Arnall, curates an exhibition highlighting the work of UIC MFA artists.
