This spring at UIC a group of interdisciplinary scholars have been meeting to discuss their interest in documentaries. On the occasion of the UIC MFA Thesis Exhibition: A Spectre is Haunting at Gallery 400, this group is organizing an informal discussion and gallery walk targeted at UIC affiliated documentary makers and/or scholars. The exhibition features a number of projects that bear an expanded and experimental approach to documentary making, using film, video, photography, and archival research. In soliciting individuals from across the UIC community, the hope is to connect documentary makers from within the School of Art and Art History with makers and scholars from the social sciences and humanities. Open to the public.
